I watched this movie today and I think it’s one of my favorites of the year (just in time).  I am no movie critic so all I’m going to say is this movie is refreshing in it’s honest and raw portrayal of marriage (never mind that it is between two women) and I think that is something that’s missing in a huge majority of films. I’m going to leave the real analysis to the pros:

“But Cholodenko doesn’t sanctify Nic and Jules as pioneers of social progress.  She knows that they represent a certain stratum of the upper middle class that’s progressive but also complacent. (They can have earnest conversations about organic-versus-locally-grown but still trip over their own glib prejudices about race and class.)
